"Every day is a struggle, some harder than others, but my life is so much better since I have been sober."
I fell victim to the lure of cocaine at a young age; I was at a party and everyone was doing it. Since others were doing it, I thought it was ok; well I was WRONG.
I was an addict for three years. I lost many friends, my family disowned me, I gave up hobbies, and I dropped out of college. I was in an abusive relationship, which only drove my addiction deeper as I sought to drown out my pain.
I became pregnant by my abuser at eighteen; my son saved my life. I woke up one morning and asked myself, “what am I doing with my life?” I made the decision that day to get clean and I haven’t looked back since.
This is why I am sharing my story. I have been sober and drug free for nine years. Every day is a struggle, some days are harder than others, but my life is so much better since I have been sober.
