"I went back to the recovery house, and there is where my life changed forever."

I managed to get high from the time I was 16 until I graduated high school. At 18 years old I was a full-blown heroin addict. I started using heroin after my first time in a rehab. After shooting that first bag, I fell in love. I finally found something that made me feel complete. After I graduated, I found cocaine. Cocaine combined with heroin was my downfall. Three months after my first shot, I was in rehab again.

I found myself in multiple recovery houses because my family could not live in the conditions I caused. I ended up relapsing and went to another rehab. Yet again, I went to another recovery house. I stayed sober for 6 months and thought I had it all figured out. I relapsed once again; and two weeks later, a friend of mine died.

This is why I am sharing my story. I went back to the recovery house, and there is where my life changed forever. I have been sober now for 4 years. I have my own home, started my own business, and next year I will graduate from college. All of this would not have been possible without AA and the support of my parents. My life is now something beyond my wildest dreams.
